Suffern Middle School in Second Life

WAY TO GO Skoolaborate!

October 25, 2008 · No Comments

One of the more pressing needs in the back-end management of the Ramapo Project this year was to try to begin to become more independent in terms of cost and time sensitive needs. Very often when a new student entered our system it would be days or weeks turn around to get their Second Life account registered.  After a great deal of cross the globe communication and collaboration, the folks at Skoolaborate worked with Ramapo to develop a super elegant Reg API sytem  that is now in place for us.  We now have total control over our own account creation – and more importantly  it involves nothing more then logging in to a website (password protected) and entering information into a form!  For those of you who have investigated the rather daunting instructions for setting up a regAPI system – this is nothing short of a miracle answered.  Even better, they are now making the system available to other educators!!!
